Aepopis
These Aepopis tracks were made mostly in the box using Fors & Unfiltered Audio software, then routed into the trusty S4 with some pedal FX applied. I really like the solo work of Neil Campbell, so much that we released some records of his back in the day. This stuff is in that ballpark but nowhere near as kaleidoscopic as Neil’s Astral Social Club material, which is just whacked-out brilliant.
I think I have a wee hankering for these sounds and enjoy the process of making this type of music. So I’ll prob do another few jam sessions in this manner. The S4 really works well with the freeform looping, although it’s very easy to go down the rabbit hole of its resonant filter, which seems to be what a lot of the YT video-ists do. I think the S4 sweet spots are pretty narrow but there’s plenty of them and its flexibility & ease of use allow those spots to be easily accessed.
Anyway, enough dry old production chat. Keeping it gonzo-free this week…
The release is, as the case is with all my solo stuff now, Bandcamp subscriber only to download. No limit on streaming. The SBS Subscription is a fiver for a year. It’s not a money thing (€5 pa is the lowest that Bandcamp will allow), just a better way to connect outside of regular streaming noise. Since I started it in
August 2025 there have been 33 releases.
No worries if the Bandcamp subscription doesnt suit, we’re all drowning in ‘content’, you can still subscribe to this mail-list and be able to read about, watch and stream my stuff for free. The mail-list posts will also contain embedded audio / video that wont be available elsewhere.
